There are some times in a child's life when they just want to let loose. Who am I kidding? Everyday in a child's life is about letting loose...as it should be! One of the great aspects of photography is capturing action shots that aren't always in perfect composition or focus, but truly capture the essence of what the person is doing, or simply trying to do. In this image, Gabriel is dancing in his We Joy Sing class like nobody is watching. I love that he does this, and he obviously loves it! In moments like this the camera needs to be set to a faster shutter speed...something close to 1/250, or faster, to capture him, or to freeze the action. There's also a potential need, from time to time, to place the camera in AI Servo (Canon terminology) mode to track him, or your subject, because he's moving frequently. As in every blog that I post, these are my opinions based on what I have experienced. Either way, my goal is to capture a moment, as you learned from the previous post, and a key focus of my photography. I think you'll find that in many of the images that I share in this blog, capturing a moment is the plan, and always a great feeling! Have a wonderful day!
